If it works out, that's probably a game changer

The current technology (no pun intended) is not economically or practically viable. With long charging times, limited charging stations, lack of standards on charging, initial costs and limited range, the industry's goal of changing everyone over to EVs is not going to happen. Also, EVs are supposed to help the environment, but battery manufacturing is pretty dirty and electrical generation still relies heavily on fossil fuels. I think we'll get there but it's not going to be easy to make the financials work out and a lot of the pollution issues will still be with us. But our technological knowledge grows exponentially. We'll get there barring an EMP but that's another story.
